A Blip on the Reidar

Ding Dong... Abandoned (Part 6)

There seems to be a fade in Dunfermline with old council buildings being abandoned. This one is on Elliot Street across from the library. The two shops beside the rather large offices are also empty which leads me to think that at some point that whole corner will be renovated and become flats or pub or sumsuch. I was pushing the two Reidar Jnr's in their pushchair when I took this photo so I couldn't hang about and take a good look. One for a lazy unemployed day to go back and find more.

Part 5

And I suppose I will mention...

Dunfermline Athletic 0-4 Livingston
East End Park
Attn: 3,473

Started brightly and looked a much stronger team for the first 20 minutes. Then they had a chance where they easily ran through our defence and although not scoring signalled an alarmingly weak area. Just before half time they scored from an easy header. Second half saw two of our defenders fall over each other so that the Livingston striker could run past them and score, that easy.

Pars heads went down. Livi where on a high and pressure mounted, eventually their third goal was a deflection and half of the Dunfermline support got up and walked out. The fourth was right before the final whistle and compounded the whole event. 12 goals conceded in three games.

There have been so many rumours flying about for the last month about why the team has completely collapsed in recent weeks but I won't bore you with those. Something will happen, the manager will be sacked or half the squad will be. Whichever it is I can only hope we get better. This season is lost to us, the best we can expect is to try and build a strong team for next season and try again.

League position: 8th
