La vida de Annie

Squash...

...wasn't by any means the word for yesterday's flight; there were 5 (as in FIVE) passengers, two of whom had purchased Speedy Boarding in order to get extra-legroom seats. We all got extra-legroom seats, along with personal service from the full crew. The captain welcomed us to effectively our own private jet, which he said would under different conditions cost £230,000 to hire. When an elderly passenger got his coat from the overhead locker and put it on, a steward rushed to ask him if he was feeling cold, and went and turned the heating up... I enjoyed a cheeky little chateau Easyjet sparkling rose and had a wonderfully relaxing flight. Unfortunately I was greeted by the first rain the island had seen for weeks (must have come over with us), and at the apartment by a swarm of ants who had somehow penetrated the sealed windows and door to attack the half-loaf of bread #2 daughter left out in July after I'd asked her to take the leftovers to the street collection bin (but omitted to check).

These lovely vegetables were on display in the market in Mahon, where today I spent a pleasant time window-shopping, and people-watching over a coffee cup in an ancient cobbled square. The rain has gone and the island is beautiful as always.
