Snow bunting

A group of these little birds is called a 'snowflake'. Supposedly. I read somewhere that a lot of those names for collectives of birds are pretty much a Victorian invention; that no-one really talked of 'murders of crows' etc.

This bird was one of six along the cliffs at Deerness.
