Deep in the garden..

Deep in the garden, at the foot of a tree and surrounded by the first fallen leaves of Autumn this chap stands - as he has done, year in year out for a dozen or more years now, "doing what he otter"!

I am not big on garden decoration like this - but this very nice present has blended in so well with the surroundings that I really like him there. Just no one give me any trolls or gnomes please!

In Norse mythology there is a dwarf called Otr who, not surprisingly often used to take the form of an otter! He could adopt any shape he liked, but he chose most often to be an otter -because he liked fish! duh!

He was accidentally slain by the god, Loki. But I think he still hangs around deep in the garden.
