Constellation of Signs

After the Scottish interlude, its back to a Biennial shot for today.

This is a display of traffic information signs mounted on a wall in Litherland next to the Leeds - Liverpool Canal. Each sign is supposed to be a distilled version of one of over 300 memories, ideas and suggestions for the future of the canal, gathered from the local community.

Its quite a fun thing to see - some of the signs are quite witty - but I guess it will mean more to those who were directly involved in the creative process than this casual viewer. But that's no criticism. The fact that the community was involved in its creation is a cool thing.
