Marjorie's ramblings

Like the phoenix

Here is a late bloom on one of my favourite shrubs, the aromatic Choisya. This one was badly affected by the prolonged cold last winter and looked set to turn up its toes on me. I gently removed frost damage in the spring and later pruned it back with care so as not to shock it too much! Instead of copious blossoms it has inevitably struggled, but here we are, as autumn sets in, and it has started to flower. What a star.

My school motto was "Post tenebras lux" (after darkness light) with a logo of a phoenix rising from the embers of the fire.

The weather was dreak today. We had a quiet day trying to aid recovery. Back to the hospital for my mother tomorrow.
