NOH

To the New Oriel Hall in Larkhall, for a meeting with Lin, a fellow management committee member. This photo has captured the early morning sun glinting on the high windows. Well, 9am is early morning for me.

I had been a management committee member back in 2003-04, as the Hall, originally a primary school, was renovated and adapted to use as a community centre. I rejoined the committee this year. Volunteers are always welcome.

The New hall replaces the original Oriel Hall, demolished to make way for the A46 bypass to the east of Bath. The New Oriel Hall is thriving at the heart of the communities of Larkhall, Lambridge and, when the #6 and #7 buses are running properly, Fairfield Park. Though we've lost shops and post offices and other local facilities, Larkhall is still blessed with a small but perfectly formed centre. We have pubs, restaurants, a gem of a theatre, the Rondo, shops ? and the Hall. No need to travel into the 'big smoke' of Bath ;-)
