Frog Rock

Trip to Christchurch today to deliver my delightful grandson back to this Mum. I shall miss him enormously - but I will enjoy sleeping.

Frog Rock is a natural limestone formation in the Weka Pass area. He looks less like a frog now (with weathering) than he did when I first saw him some 35 years ago - however if you look hard and squint right you can get the general idea.

As you can see from the track beside him, people climb up and sit on top of his head. Something I've always wanted to be - but know I never will due to my paranoia about high places with no barriers.

This was a point and shoot from a moving vehicle (no I wasn't the driver).
