A time for everything

My two girls!

Saturday
The day dawned sunny and bright, but by the time we'd had breakfast and got downtown, the clouds were already beginning to move in, and the wind indicated that the cold front was beginning to push through. The red water in the fountain outside the Chiquita building caught our attention - we guessed (and later confirmed) that it was in honor of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team making it into the play-offs for the first time in 15 years! Next stop was the observation deck of the Carew tower, formerly Cincinnati's tallest building, but now surpassed by the Great American Tower. Following that we had lunch at Skyline Chili, one of Cincinnati's "institutions"! Then we had a little wander round the Celtic Festival which was going on in Fountain Square, and listened to some of the music. By this time however, it had become quite cool, so we didn't linger for too long! Then we went to the Museum Center at the Union Terminal building to watch the IMAX movie Mysteries of the Great Lakes, which was excellent. By the time we came out of there it was raining, so we headed home. Jen was out in the evening on a dinner cruise with guests of the wedding she is attending tomorrow. After dinner, the three of us played Big Boggle, with Jen joining us on her return.
