Iron Run

A couple of days ago we read in our local paper that there was going to be a motorcycle "Iron Run." This motorcycle run was an escort for a 6400 lb piece of steel from the WTC that was being transported from Newark, NJ to Palm, PA. The piece of steel was being transported to the American Legion Post 184 and will be used as part of a 911 memorial.

Since we had no idea what time the convoy would pass by where we were waiting, we had to wait about 2 hours. Thank goodness the weather was in our favor, but it still got a little chilly waiting in the back of our pickup truck on the side of the road. Once the piece of WTC steel went by us, there were thousands of motorcycles that followed. It was a really incredible site and well worth the two hour wait.
