Kinkell Old Church, Inverurie

Another dreich day in this part of Aberdeenshire.

Perhaps the most surreal thing about Kinkell Church is what you see if you turn about through 180 degrees from the view in this photograph: the whole scene is dominated by the now-mothballed Inverurie Paper Mill, which may or may not eventually find a new and productive existence as a 'Green Energy Centre'.
