My neighbor Jim is preparing to pedal 45 miles to the county seat to pay his property taxes. It is a good excuse for a nice bike ride. Florence, our county seat is also about 1600 feet downhill.

Temperature at time of departure was about 60 degrees F with hardly any wind. Daily high temperature will be about 80 degrees under extremely clear, blue skies. There is a nice Greek restaurant at Florence for refueling.
