Early morning light!

The light was amazing this morning as the sun cast its warming light across the garden. So good that it tempted me out with the camera in my pyjamas. This photograph was the best of the early morning set, though I did go back out again this afternoon to take some close-up shots.

The plant is Tropaeolum Tuberosum (a form of Nasturtium) which grows up mesh attached to the washing line post. It has survived for quite a few years now, even though it is not fully hardy. It grows in a sunny spot in a dry-stone walled garden where the soil is very dry. This probably helps it to survive our wet and often cold winters.
