Windfall

After about 8am it's hardly worth thinking about using public transport to get to work. The buses switch to a frequency that might be OK for pensioners with hours to kill and the trains become more intermittent. What little connection there was between their schedules disappears. This means that my rather fortunate sleeping in this morning means a few hours working from home before getting a lift into Edinburgh from Mandy so that she can then take the scanner to the repair place, saving me the time and the taxi fare. Neat.

It's 10am (10:06 and 36 seconds to be precise) and although the sun is out, it has only broken the horizon enough to be shining through rather than over the hedges and shrubs that create the illusion of separation between us and our neighbours. The ground is littered with apples that will need to be gathered up, squashed and brewed. Maybe a few will become a pie. Actually, since I'll be in the car, maybe I'll take some to work and we can all have pies.
