Men at Work

Ten years or so ago, I had a woodturning shop in Abbey Lane, Arklow. The name comes from the fact that many, many moons ago the lands hereabouts belonged to a religious order. The Abbey has long gone of course but the historical fact lives on in the name of this laneway which connects the Main Street to the car park. Gradually, the old surface became broken ant pot holed, so the council in their wisdom decided to give it a makeover.
Here we see an unusual sight. Council workmen going at it, flat out and not one of them leaning on a shovel!!
