Rodents rule

Saved by the camera

It's true - cameras are useful survival tools! After a wonderful walk through the woods faithfully following the yellow waymarks, we realised that we must have followed another lot of yellow marks than we intended to. This meant our walk took 10 hours instead of 7, and, torchless, we had to descend in darkness. It was pitch black. It was very Blair Witch. However, not ones to panic we decided to use the lights of our mobile phones to guide the way until the batteries ran out (the bleeps of woe!) But those pesky yellow markers were difficult to find, especially in clearings - oh which way do we go?! We were rescued by the digital camera. Can you see the yellow marker?

I reckon this was my best chance to see rodents - we heard many scuffles, which wrern't all from the wild pigs. I was disappointed that a startled rodent didn't turn up on one of the digital flash searches.

A happy ending. We found our way home and we didn't have to spend the night in the forest! Thank goodness for the digital camera.
