The Edge of the Wold

Sandside morning

Ok, no apologies this time for another estuary blip. Early morning was going to be my only opportunity today to get a daylight blip out of doors, so I stopped at Sandside to watch the effect of sunrise on the estuary. The sun is behind me, hidden by low hills, but the dawn light flushed the clouds with pink picked up in the watery reflections. The early light is otherwise almost monochromal, there are just tinges of blue in the water and faint colour in the mudflats, hills and woodlands.

This may be best viewed large.

There is another view here taken five minutes later as the background was beginning to pick up more colour.
