Swimming Against The Tide

Dyslexic Scrooge

On our little jaunt out the other day we went to a rather fabulously tacky 99p shop - I love such places, full of things I never knew existed, but mysteriously acquire the desire to own within a very short space of time!

We were terribly attracted to a pack of 6 of these baubles - Scrooge balls!!! - at first glance believing them to say "bah humbug". When we discovered that they did in fact say "bah humubg" we needed them even more and were persuaded to part with the princely sum of 99p!

In other news, I'm still not quite right, but am fighting back. On the advice of the medics I'm carrying on as "normal" but doing less of it and taking more rest in between. Slowly, but surely, things are getting done.

We were going to go out today, but have decided not to. You may be interested in the list of places we discussed this morning: the Bahamas, Hawaii, the North Pacific Gyre, the Falkland Islands, Ascension Island! This led to a discussion in which we realised that when we were born, WWII was temporally closer than the Falklands Conflict is now!

So why do we not yet behave like grownups? Who knows!

Anyway, we did giggle at dyslexic Scrooge's balls!
