Not Camelot

Yesterday I'd decided to head up to Doune and grab some pics around the castle there, the one that Monty Python had filmed numerous scenes for their Holy Grail film as a stand in for Camelot. It was a gorgeous sunny afternoon too, perfect for phots. But I turned up without my 'Historic Scotland' membership card and being a typical canny (tight) Scot I wasn't for coughing up the entry fee for the half hour or so the Castle was still open. So we went for a nice walk around the place instead.

On the road back we stopped off at Lecropt Kirk here, a small but perfectly formed Gothic church near Stirling. It looked spectacular with the sun catching it through the trees and would have been even more idyllic if it wasn't for the constant roar of traffic on the M9 motorway only yards away from this spot.

We'll head back to Doune another time, with our cards this time and maybe some coconuts so we can participate in some running away and buggering of like brave, brave Sir Robin did.
