Moon At Daybreak

I was up at first light and while I waited for the kettle to boil I wandered outside to see if clouds obscured the setting moon yet again.  There was a bright light, but trees were in the way.  I rushed in for my camera and took off across the road away from the trees.  No time to fit the tripod.

The image is rather dark and grainy, but I like it.  Not only does it illustrate the moon illusion in that it looks huge near the horizon, but also the brightness surprises.  One would think it should be dark like the mountain, but of course it's a very long way from the mountain, away in the sunshine.
