On the rocks

The boys wanted to go fishing so it was off to the lighthouse, there was a big swell, a couple of casts, some soakings from big waves and chilled by a cold wind we decided to head back to the harbour. Today was the defence announcement, it showed the jets were flying around everywhere, playing to the media by any chance,

Down to the harbour and a couple more coalfish caught and some crabs, they were having a ball. Sadly we watched a young brown gannet fighting for its life as it had been hammered by the strong winds. Several heart stopping failures and at last it caught the thermals and headed out to the sea, superb result.

A cracking evening so it was back out for a cast, Balintore this time. On the harbour exposed to the winds and crashing waves. Sand eels in the water gave hope but it was only crabs caught. Being out on the harbour we watched and heard the boy racers zoom up and down the main street and big turns in the car parks.
