'The Birds' - Starlings Clustering on a Pylon

Momentary flashes of horror are fortunately quite rare in everyday life - in my experience anyway.

But the glimpse of starlings swarming over an electricity pylon as I was driving back from my Banchory office along the B9119 Tarland Road, induced a momentary sensation of what I can only describe as 'Shock and Awe'. (Pylons like these, with their bare wires carrying thousands of volts, are scary enough at the best of times).

At least there was somewhere beside the road where I could pull over, get out of the car and capture this horrific moment on camera...
