Autumn beeches

Sorry, this is perhaps too predictable an autumn shot, but I do love the colour of beech at this time of the year, the coppery leaves on the ground and the yellowing foliage on the tree.

I went for a walk at lunchtime in the rain. This is the old Lancaster to Kendal Canal towpath, the canal is long gone. Even in the rain today, the colour of the beech leaves was vibrant. Maybe there's something symbolic in this for me. These are unfamiliar and disorienting times and I have little idea what the next 6 months will bring. I'll follow the track and see where it takes me, I'm more curious than anxious. I think.
