Party Susan?

A herbascious version perhaps?
I was reminded of the phrase 'party Susan' as I took this shot.
And the memory jog wasn't the wet muddy knees. (That's another story).

Mum was once 'persuaded' to a tupperware party (are there still such events?).
She returned, a picture of joy, bearing the above 'must-have' item.
The creation itself, was a segmented tray of white/greying plastic, mounted on a turntable (which probably also played 16s, as opposed to 45s) and was intended for the serving up of little snackettes at cocktail parties.
It also sported (joy!) a snap on lid. (Which, I seem to recall one had to 'burp' - honestly! To remove the air!).
We never had snackettes or cocktail parties. So it remained a virgin Susan.
Unsullied by crisps, salted cashews, and pineapples (with cheese).
Or sausages on sticks.
And it was massive! Despite this, it lived in a cupboard we used daily.
Near the front. (The triumph of hope over experience.)
And now it resides (indestructably) in my loft.
Happy Friday!
