The Count

I know Halloween is tomorrow but the kids on our street are mostly lower primary age so the mothers decided it would be better to go out guisin' (trick or treat for our American friends!) on the Sat night so they could be out longer, and enjoy the night more.

So a dozen kids (including Cameron, our Count Dracula) and 6 mothers, went round the doors terrorising the neighbourhood! Our house was last in line, and there were a few inebrieated mothers by then. Seems like lots of wine drunk too.

Then at the end of the evening, by then 11pm, as they all trooped out our front door, papa jumped out from the side of the house with a white sheet over him and a torch under his face, making ghostly noises. The children got such a fright, in fact one little girl was in tears, (shame). He then pulled the sheet off and ran round through the kitchen to the front, to the shouting from them all, "it was you". Oh no it wasn't says he - like a panto. Of course he had to do it again and again. Hilarious, and very noisy, but great fun. He's mad!
