Giant Hogweed # 2....

Oh, it's been an interesting day here at Big Hill!!!

A couple of days ago, when figuring out the cost of propane gas to our stove, Terry discovered that this is by far a way more expensive way to cook! so, we started the process of looking for a used electric stove! Well, was that an interesting experience! The first one we had a look at was very interesting....described as a black, ceramic top stove in 'good condition' priced $200, we headed out to take a look! Well, to say that this stove was in anything but 'good condition' would be generous.....it was pretty bad. So, i suggested we research just how much new stoves cost. So, at 10 minutes to 5 (closing time at Home Depot) we headed in and found out that new stoves were a mere $400!!! So, 10 minutes later we were loading a new, white and shiny ceramic top stove onto the back of the truck, in the rain.....we came prepared with tarps! Now, we have a new stove (first time ever for both Terry and I in our almost 60 years of life!!!) waiting to be installed tomorrow! This should be an interesting venture i think!

but why the giant hogweed image.....we went for a lovely long walk this morning, before it began raining....and for only a few moments the sun burst thro the clouds and illuminated this amazing structure - it reminds me of the simplicity of life, the complexity of life and the enduring nature of curiosity!

Then, after a long chat with one of my dearest daughters who is struggling with separation for the first time in her 22 years of life (she's a twin!!), I am also aware of the fragility and strength within this form called the human being....delicate and soft, yet with a structure that supports growth.

I go to bed with that feeling of awe for the way we struggle thro our difficult and painful times....with the trust that deep down we can get thro the worst of it and see the beauty in all of it.

Good night on this evenight of Halloween.....tomorrow, November.....ahhhh...way more frightening than halloween i think!!!
