Shhhhh, secret bunker

One of the oddities of our little village is that it has a Nuclear Bunker! Dating from the cold war it is not actually a Nuclear Bunker, a shelter for the village gentry to rest their heads while a Nuclear storm raged above. It was one of many Royal Observer Corps Monitoring Posts scattered up and down the country. The Queen has on at Windsor Castle so we are in fine company.

This is ours. The Blue tank has been put over the access shaft to stop locals (Alfie and me today) from exploring, there is however a hole in the top so I was able to peer inside and see the hatch, I felt a little like an extra from lost!
