Railway bridge

Just a quick through the car window blip on the way to work this morning. This is the Old Railway Bridge in Greenfield.

The standard gauge railway ran through Greenfield Valley. It was built in 1869 to revive industry in the area.

In 1912 it became a full passenger service known as the 'Little Train' and was the steepest conventional passenger railway in Great Britain. The disused railway line is now an all terrain path. The line eventually closed in 1954.

Been a busy day again, feet haven't touched the ground and I have actually managed to complete a full week in work. Been a dry day with a fair bit of sunshine too.

Yippee my weekend starts now. Nice glass of chilled Pinot Grigio in hand to round off the evening.

Hope your all having a good Thursday.
