secret garden

At the going down of the sun....

The film last night was excellent (The Kids are Alright) - humorous and perceptive look at family life with teenagers and all the complications that involves, and gentle teasing of American right-on ness and prevalence for discussing everything! Great performances from Annette Bening and Julianne Moore as middle aged lesbians mums!! Recommended.

Bright and frosty start to the day and it remained dry enough for some tidying up and hacking back in the garden after the gales. Very pleasant.

We've just returned from an exhibition of photos submitted by locals way back in the summer. It was held in the community hall complete with tea and buns and a very impressive turn out. The standard of photos was also very high. I had entered four pix and so had Will but it was just great to see everybody's contributions - a real community spirit.

We stopped off at Farnamanagh strand on the way home. The sun was just setting and everywhere you looked was gob-smacking!! I must learn to do panoramas! The clouds were massive and odd shapes and everywhere was very still apart from a little quartet of Italians noisily photographing themselves - and they encroached in my blip!! Actually, I think they add to it!

Remembrance Day is not marked here for various complicated reasons, so this seemed a fitting tribute.
