..we are being consumed by advent calendars....three each at the last count...surely it should be the other way round?

growing up in a make-your-own-museli sort of family, we had homemade advent calendars and shunned all chocolate-related evilness. when the old man's mother first sent chocolate calendars for the carpet biters, i was distinctly torn. we now have both...no prizes for guessing which are the most popular.

carpet biter1 is a methodical hoarder of chocolate - waiting until she knows her brother has eaten his - the triumph at being the last one to still have some chocolate left only enhances the pleasure of the eating..

carpet biter2 is a stuffer...eating so fast that he's barely able to draw breath.

i noticed today that he seems to have made a bit of headway and is already on the 18th dec. long explanations of why it's better to wait fall on deaf ears.

today i conquered the sewing machine and made presents for the kids.
