Bicycles for Students

Nearly three years ago our volunteers from DIT built a three classroom school block in a remote rural area called Luvuwu. Since then they have developed into a full primary school. Last Year five students qualified to go to Government Secondary school about 15 km from home. Up to now this meant a walk of 30km per day round trip. They are doing well in school and will do better now with new biked paid for by the students of DIT. The pic shows the three boys and two girls with Charity and the school principal, Rhoda

We bought the books and bicycles for Luvuwu boys and girls who are at Zolozolo Community District Secondary School.
The guys were very excited to receive the bicycles. the head teacher said this will ease the transport problem the guys were facing, their performance in class will also improve as they will be able to attend classes at a good time.
I was at Lusangazi in the evening and I went to collect manure, had some talks with Alinipher about the progress as well as the performances of workers.
Managed to get fuel for the pumps after a week with no petrol.
No rainfall in Mzuzu up to now but the South is experiencing rains in some districts.

Regards to all,

Harisen
