holiday

nothing like a mid-week holiday when you're already suffering from long weekend hangover :) Today is Bakrid or the Eid-al-Adha and we have a holiday on account of that. Hyderabad is predominantly muslim and hence any Muslim festival is big in this city. Last year we had a great time shooting sheep merchants selling goats and sheep on the streetside. Today, I and pixelart had plans to go out early in the morning towards the old city, hoping to catch some misty morning festival action. But it was too dark and drizzling when we got up. That, mixed with laziness led to cancellation of the plan. Another friend from my office went out shooting by himself and had to return disappointed as people with cameras were not being allowed near public gathering and mosques. This is somewhat strange since the city and people of Hyderabad are actually quite open to street photography. Anyway, in retrospect, glad that I chose to catch some sleep rather than stepping out in the dark :)
