One daze at a time...

Pieds bleus sauce recession

Went for a walk to the Martello tower in Sutton this morning.

The weather was still great back then. And I found enough "pieds bleus"* for a mushroom stir-fry. Which comes in handy as we are in the last straight to pay day. Another 26 long hours before I get paid. Field mushroom are cheap (free actually) and cheerful.
Mrs Raheny and the trolls declined to try to eat them, and they do not know what they are missing. Great blast from the past that tickled my taste buds. It must be 25 years at least since I had these. It's an emotional time to be reacquainted with a taste from the past.
They had pancakes instead (cheap and cheerful).
Then Mrs Raheny checked if the premium on my life insurance was indeed settled in time, while keeping an eye on me doing an impression of a digesting walrus on the sofa.
A nice quiet (and cheap) (and cheerful) Sunday altogether. With a lovely turf fire in the sitting room (thank you Nana).

Oh, and we did partake in a spot of seasonal festive tack
Cheap (free actually) and cheerful (if the number of replays by a very excited Luca, an absolutely thrilled Mimi and a slightly worried Finn are anything to go by).

Only 25 hours and 40 minutes to pay day...
