What happens in Vegas.....

Oh dear lord.....

Mama C and I had one hell of a crazy night in Vegas, but none of you will ever know because: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

But I'll tell you all about the drive up!

We got off to a semi-late start. We left at 12:50 PM and were immediately overcome by the usual Friday traffic. By the way, Los Angeles has, by far, the worst traffic in the US- if not the world- so I'm not exaggerating here.

By 3:30 PM we stopped in Barstow for a late lunch. I convinced Ms. Catherine to try her first burger in 20 years at In-N-Out. She'd never been there and couldn't believe there were only 3 items on the menu (hamburger, cheeseburger, double-double). Needless to say, she loved her fresh hamburger and all of it's fresh ingredients.

Then we noticed some employee was telling the rest of the employees to stand guard of the doors: NO ONE GET'S IN! As people started leaving and no one came in, curiousity got the better of us and we finally asked what the hell was going on. Apparently, they got a call from the water department saying that all the water was contaminated with chlorine.

We left and went to a nearby shop to find Mama C a super-hot dress for the weekend and learnt more from the women behind the counter. Apparently In-N-Out was just trying to not scare the hell out of everyone. In reality, there was some explosive material that had been leaked into the water source and no one was allowed to even wash their hands with the current water. I asked the sales clerks how often this happens and they said this has never happened before EVER. Another clerk pointed out that there are 2 major air force bases in the vicinity. I asked if this could be a terrorist attack and they all freaked out saying YES!

Catherine, a native of London, laughed at how my mind was racing and how much I freaked out about this. We did laugh a lot about it in the car about just how different the US and the UK are culturally. Honestly, I'd rather live in the UK Here in the US, if someone mentions "terrorism" everyone panics and we all shut down. In the UK. you say "OK" and move on.

Finally we got to Vegas, bought 6 bottles of champagne for the weekend, marvelled at our glorious suite w/kitchen, 2 tvs, a sitting room, double bathroom, and private bedroom (w/king size bed) and city view. We hopped in the shower (separately.... obviously) and got dressed up as though we owned Vegas.

The moment we left the room.... well, that all get's to stay in Vegas. ;o)
