The Oxo Tower

Walking to catch my train home from Waterloo Station last night, I couldn't resist this enticing shot of the old Oxo Tower. Originally built as a power station for the Post Office at the end of the C19th. and subsequently purchased by the Liebig Extract of Meat Company (makers of the famous Oxo Cubes) and used as a meat store. It was rebuilt in 1928-29 in the Art Deco Style.

The O, X, O are in fact windows, so that the Liebig Extract of Meat Co. could get around restrictive advertising regulations. Find out more.

The Havery Nics Oxo Tower Bar, Brasserie & Restaurant have some of the most stunning sunset views of London.
