Another year

The highlight of today was going to the Watershed Media Centre in the heart of Bristol to see the new Mike Leigh film, Another Year.

It was funny and well observed, although not as side-splitting hilarious as Leigh's marvellous Abigail's Party and Nuts in May.

However, I still urge everyone reading this to get along. It's about a happy middle-aged couple and the generally unhappy friends, colleagues and relatives who surround them in the four seasons of a typical year. It's an interesting study in loneliness - well, that's how Mrs Dailykeith described it!

Blip opportunities were few and far between again today. This is a detail from the Ark and Fish drinking fountain, by Kate Malone, which sits in Bristol's Castle Park and which I passed on my way to work.
