lakes and ride

Had to compensate for yesterday's missed ride. The plan for today's ride was...err...no plan. We just decided to meet at some place, head towards a direction and then decide the rest of the ride on the fly. Little did we understand that in retrospect, this will turn out to be a very wise decision. We headed towards a lake and then just followed the road. The map said there are more lakes in the area and our motive was to find a few of them. We did come across a couple of them and in the most expected manner. In the middle of nowhere, surrounded by rocks that are millions of years old (Hyderabad boasts of some really-really old rocks and monoliths). Minutes before arriving at the lakes, we met a local guy who signaled us to go back. Probably he was trying to say that there's no road ahead - exactly what we wanted to hear. We listened to the road and quietly followed the trails cutting through the rocks and the bushes. Our instincts guided us and we rode through the most incredible off-roads. These off-roads never disappoint. Today, it was all about unknown roads leading to known places and known roads leading to unknown places. This happened repeatedly as moved from one place to another. Finally the ride ended at a good 40km for me, with 4 more riders alongside for a great company.

Later part of the day was spent in the city. Went to the Nikon service center as well to get my camera and the lens serviced. Nikon products and services are costly for sure but I guess that's the premium we have to pay for letting only trained hands touch the equipment. The technician was a guy in late 30s or early 40s probably and was most friendly and helpful. I've the camera and lens back with me. Looks like a job very well done. Will have to wait for the results though.
