Snowy Stromness Starlings

I walked past the Ness Point and along the track to just beyond Warebeth beach. I thought of going further but the snow is quite tiring to wade through, and I wanted to get back and look for snowy shots in the town. I did take some shots which cane be seen here.

I saw a merlin and a kestrel in quick succession. They have left the moors to follow prey to the shore, so the starlings in the shot were wise to stay in town.
At Ness Point some seals were singing. I'm sure it was a carol, perhaps 'Good King Whence Seal us' or 'Sealant Night'.

Heading back, I was facing into a blizzard. I noticed two kids on a hill who were using their sledges to shelter under. Or perhaps they just weren't sure how sledges work. Kids!
