Ferry to Manhattan at Dawn

At the Hudson River bank at Hoboken, New Jersey, commuter ferries have been running to Midtown Manhattan and to the financial district in Lower Manhattan for many years now. I remember that when I was young, the waterfronts around NYC were largely neglected or abandoned and there were almost no ferries in the area. On the New York side, one transfers to any of four crosstown buses that are included in the ticket price. It seemed to me a very efficient (and scenic) service, and far more desirable than the alternatives by train or bus. It was at this very same spot along the river that airline pilot "Sully" Sullenberger landed his disabled jet on January 15, 2009, delivering all 155 passengers to safety and becoming a very likeable national hero.
