Horses wearing coats

These three beauties have recently taken up residence on a patch of land just up the road from our house (there's a fourth, but he seemed shy of the camera). I was concerned about them being out in the cold, but they seem ok, and are all wearing coats.

The barbed wire fence is all that separates them from a grass verge and busy main road, so they spend their day watching cars and listening to police sirens, and they get a lot of attention from local schoolchildren who use the path nearby as a short-cut to school.

I'll be keeping an eye on them over the winter to make sure they are happy.
