Morning stroll

The local government (in all their boundless wisdom) has started the yearly removal of sand from our beach.

In principal this is a good idea: replenishing the sand that gets moved by longshore drift up the coast. Practically and financially it is a total waste of time, as each year the sand that has been deposited is moved overnight as soon as the next storm arrives.

The operation closes the beach for about a month and costs a fortune (our town of 22,000 people is 16 million Euros in debt), and of course leaves us with less beach our side.

This blip taken this morning on my walk.
