By the Pond....

Been sitting at my computer most of the day, i'm writing a grant application for a new kiln....ahhhh....it would be so amazing if we get it....means that by the beginning of february we could be firing a brand new, computerized kiln! this is so beyond my idea of what a potter should use, the idea of not 'watching' as the kiln gets hotter, and tweaking the switches so i get an even firing.....to just letting a computer do all that responsible work...i don't know! it feels somehow wrong, and i have a strong suspicion i'll be sitting by it's side for those first few firings. But i get ahead of myself, haven't even been approved yet! then a visit from the owner of one of the stores that carries my work....placing her 2011 order.....she's organised eh....and it's way bigger than last years, actually more than doubled....yahooo!!! anyway, while i was getting this done on the computer, the light started doing that interesting dance, it was around 3.50pm....but of course by the time i find my camera, get my boots and coat on, fend off 2 very excited dogs and try to find terry to tell him i'm off out.....well, the sun was sinking fast! however, after a walk up to the road and down to the pond, my favorite spot to ponder (hahahaha - that was so unintentional, but i can't help smile), i found that reflective shot that i have often blipped!

So, it is now dark outside and isn't even 5pm.....still at the computer - and all is just fine.

I'm planning to do some back blips from the weekends meditation retreat....it was totally wonderful!
