Gillipaw's Journal

Langside Halls, Shawlands, Glasgow

There have been many difficulties due to the weather over the last 36 hours, but one of the benefits is the low strong sunlight. It certainly brings out the blonde sandstone on this local building rather well. Two of my colleagues took 19 hours to drive home, leaving yesterday at lunchtime - it usually takes them about 40 minutes.

A really weird feeling this morning - no one about, and I didn't see a car on the road until I got to Shawlands. I struggled to work on seriously icey pavements. Getting home at lunchtime was a relief. #1 had an exam which went ahead. #2 struggled into University only to be told lectures were cancelled, BA had already planned to work from home. It is forecast to be -12C overnight.
