Well - you lot didn't have to wait a week for my new tradition, seeing as I'm still awake in the wee small hours :-) Something to do with a couple of glasses of red wine.

About six months back, a few friends were gathered together having some dinner and someone (who knows who - its lost in the mists of time) suggested we meet the following Wednesday for dinner and someone else joked "the Wednesday Night Dinner Club".

So, since then, every week someone takes a turn to cook a slap up dinner and an excellent time is had by all. It is even leading to some experimental (and dare I say it mildly competitive) cooking ... so tonight I cooked chicken skewers with sweetcorn, chillies and ginger followed by lamb shank rogan josh (which I found out means red sauce - not as fancy as it sounds) from scratch.

Its also an excellent and fun way of making sure we keep in touch with our closest friends.

Who would have thought it would stick , never mind that it become a tradition. Not all traditions need to be deep or rooted in religion or history. Go on, I dare you, start your own tradition today!

Oh, btw, this is our fab new dining room table/chairs. Sad and materialistic, but I like it!

Check out yesterday's sunrise blip too if you've not seen it.

LOTD: Go and have a look at Gripja's inverted NYC blip. Cool and weird and somehow christmassy all at the same time.
