The journey home

After a 5.5-hour flight from Lima to Miami, and a 2-hour flight from Miami to DC, we made it home. The morning wait at the airport was a little more pleasant than usual, as we were given access to a special lounge in Lima, which had a free breakfast buffet (including a machine that made fresh-squeezed orange juice from oranges you tossed into a basket above) and the bright, funky seats pictured here. There were also much more comfortable upholstered seats, which were equally retro fun, along with Andy Warhol prints on the wall. M & I had one room of the lounge entirely to ourselves, which made for a peaceful and comfortable morning.

It was an amazing week, but it is still good to be home, surrounded by familiar things, and brushing my teeth with tap water rather than bottled water.
