The snow came, went and returned ....

The snow returned today with great enthusiasm. From the the mouth of the river Ythan this magnificent beach and dune system stretches all the way to Aberdeen, over 12 miles to the south. The line of dark dots at the top of the beach are concrete blocks built in great haste in 1940, to impede the landing of tanks during the expected Nazi invasion. They also stretch all the way to Aberdeen.

Sadly, the view, and the ecology, will be blighted in the coming months as Mr Donald Trump continues to build his golf course and mega-hotel on this dune system which is currently designated as being a Site of Special Scientific Importance (SSSI).
