Gifts From Above

They'll be out tonight,
the wintery christmas creatures.
They'll be stalking the forest.
Searching for presents.
Sniffing for parcels.
The ones you didn't receive.
The ones that fell
off the back of the sleigh.

Yes, they'll be out
among the blue and the white tonight,
the wintery christmas creatures,
claiming what's theirs;
the packages that landed with a thump
on the floor of their forest,
the boxes wrapped in bright paper
and signed '...with love.'
