Getting ready

Raynsford's greengrocers in Battersea High Street looked as colourful and orderly as ever as I walked past on the way to work this morning. Only today they had Christmas lights up so it looked even more festive. With all the sprouts, tangerines, nuts and other seasonal essentials all in order, they look ready for the Christmas rush.

I always hope these guys do well at any time of year as they face relentless competition from the supermarkets. Brome is under strict instructions to do our own fruit and veg shopping at Hampton Hill greengrocers.
