Unusual Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve 14 years ago was a bit different for us because that's when Ruby was born. She trolled along only 16 days late, so any plans that existed for Christmas dinner had long been forgotten. Magically, as I got to grips with early motherhood, my own mum and dad did all the necessary shopping and we had a magnificent celebratory dinner on Christmas Day.

This Christmas Eve, Ruby is celebrating her 14th birthday, and we're over at Lynn and Danielle's having Christmas dinner - a custom we've got into over recent years which seems to work well for us. Sadly, Danielle is feeling poorly and has retired to bed, so Brome and Lynn have taken over the meal preparations.

Also unusually, I've managed to snap Ruby and Wallis hugging each other and smiling - a rarity indeed so therefore qualifies for my blip for today.
