Seeds for the New Year

We had some sunshine today after days of fog and mist, but I didn't get to stray too far, so today's picture is another from just a few yards out into the moor.

This ash tree has survived a lightning strike, and is laden with keys ready to spread new growth in the Spring. Standing under it, with the branches reaching down almost to the ground, and the feathery clumps of keys, it almost has the feel of a New Orleans Cypress.

Happy New Year everyone!
